I would like to introduce myself. I am the artisan behind Dancing Madrone Soap Co. Having loved making things with my hands, I feel I have always been a crafter. Many nights while working as an obstetrical nurse, I dreamed of having a home business that utilized my love of creating beautiful and useful things. Then, in the fall of 1998 while taking an herb course a passion came alive. A guest soapmaker gave a presentation during the very last class and my life has not been the same since. I discovered a personally challenging way to make something useful and beautiful. I had found a process that integrated my knowledge of herbs, the tenderness, safety and caring of nursing, and my understanding of chemistry. Developing my soap business has been very rewarding. The joy is in the process. Oh, and by the way, many graceful madrone trees look as though they are dancing. One in particular on my property inspired the name Dancing Madrone. My company's logo derives from an orginial sketch of myself drawn by an artist friend who gave it to me in 1970. A graphic artist helped transform it into my logo.
